When a child is grieving, parents and caregivers may not know how to help. When we are struggling with our own grief, it can be particularly hard to offer comfort. KinderMourn is a sanctuary for young people who have experienced the death of a loved one.
With KinderMourn's support and guidance, children and teens learn to identify their feelings and discover healthy ways of coping. All KinderMourn services are provided by grief counselors with specialized training in childhood bereavement issues. Parents and guardians interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to schedule an initial visit with a KinderMourn counselor. There is no charge for the initial visit and additional services are based on a sliding fee scale. Scholarships are available for those experiencing financial stress.

Support Services Include:
Support Groups for elementary, middle and high school-aged youth. Children and teens are given the opportunity to connect with others similar in age who have experienced a significant loss. Grieving Parent Group meets at regular intervals throughout the year at the KinderMourn home. The Caregiver Group meets concurrently. For more information or to schedule an intake, call the KinderMourn office at 704.376.2580.
